Laser eye surgery is a procedure that is meant to correct vision problems such as myopia (near-sightedness), hyperopia (far-sightedness), and astigmatism (distortion in sharpness when looking at objects at any distance).

In this procedure, a laser device is used to make permanent changes to the shape of the cornea. This device produces a beam of ultraviolet light to eliminate tissue. This changes the shape of the cornea and thus can correct mild to moderate vision problems in most people.

At your routine eye exam, Dr. Joseph can answer all of your questions regarding laser vision correction, including the risks and benefits, and also your standing and eligibility for this corrective procedure.
